Dr Conroy is a plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon. He completed medical school in the UK before entering into a surgical career. He completed his basic surgical training in Yorkshire and selected Plastic Surgery as his area of specialization. He undertook a period of research in the field of LASERS and energy based treatments and completed his higher specialist training in Ireland working in the university teaching hospital. After receiving his CCT Dr Conroy was awarded an Allergan fellowship and travelled to Vancouver, Canada where he developed his interest in microvascular breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. Dr Conroy has presented internationally and has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers. He prides himself on his attention to detail and patient care.
Breast reduction surgery is a popular procedure that can drastically change a woman's life. Over 100,000 breast reduction procedures are performed in the USA each year. however the use of the supero-medial pedicle technique is still not that common, with the inferior pedicle gaining much more popularity. There are distinct advantages when using the supero-medial pedicle technique including the creation of more upper pole fullness and the reduction in pseudo-ptosis. The technique is relatively easy to learn and can produce excellent results. In this presentation I will outline my technique and describe some tips when performing this surgery.
